Fritz Meyer was born May 16, 1892 in Clayton County, Iowa. His parents were August and Louise (Schrader) Meyer. Mr. Meyer died at Postville on Feb. 11, 1977 at the age of 84 years.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 14, 1977 at the Schutte Funeral Home with burial in the Postville Cemetery.

He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, on Dec. 31, 1892. He was united in marriage to Bertha Louise Radloff on December 29, 1921. They were the parents of 11 children. Mrs. Meyer died January 22, 1962.

Fritz received his education in rural Postville area schools. He was a long-time employee of Clayton County and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, and a grandson, Larry Gene Meyer; also a brother, Henry, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Block and Mrs. Henry Dahms.

Surviving are nine children, sons Richard, Harold, Donald, Roland, Gerald, all of Postville, and Frederich of Monona; daughters, Joan (Mrs. Harvey Plaht), Marlene (Mrs. Willis Livingood), and Darlene, (Mrs. Harlan White) all of Postville; 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother Alfred.
