DIED - At McGregor, on Thursday morning at 3 o'clock of Consumption or Lund Disease, Alexander McKinnie, aged 42 years.

The deceased was one of our most valued citizens. An industrious working, honest man. No one is so reckless as to cast an imputation on his character.

A resident here since 1856; active in business; upright in every sense, it is not strange that those of us who knew him best saw with sorrow that he, as many others of old and cherished memories, was marked for the narrow house to which all are tending. What a myth is Life!

Our friend - and we say so in the warmest sense - leaves a wife and two little girls to regret the early death of their protector. We mingle our sorrow with theirs.

He was buried with the imposing honors due a Master Mason. Rev. Mr. Sloan delivered the funeral sermon.
