Elkader Register, 08 Apr. 1884.

On Thursday last, at Monona, occurred an accident which resulted in the death of an old citizen of that place, Mr. Sullivan Jacobs.

It seems that Mr. Jacobs had gone up in a cottonwood tree, to trim it up, and by some means lost his hold and fell to the ground, receiving fatal injuries, his death occurring on Friday evening.

Mr. Jacobs had resided in Monona a number of years, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was about 75 years of age, and was residing with his daughter, Mrs. William Elmore.
