Elkader Register, 06 July 1883.

At the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Krueger, in Garnavillo township, on the 3d inst., occurred the death of John G. Heye, at the ripe old age of 78 years. He was a native of the kingdom of Hanover, but had been a resident of Garnavillo township since 1848. He leaves two grown children to mourn his loss. He was buried in the Garnavillo cemetery on the 4th.
