Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Jones, 85, of near Waterville were held Saturday, May 19, at 2 o'clock in the Schultz funeral home. The Rev. E. Wayne Hilmer officiated. Burial was in Council Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Jones died at the Veterans Memorial hospital in Waukon, where she had been taken the previous day.
The former Viola Sutter was born May 26, 1870, in Linton township, Allamakee county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Sutter. She was educated in the rural schools, and after her marriage to Frank Jones resided on a farm near Ion, Iowa, for many years. Her husband died in 1925.
Survivors include four sons, Leo of near Waterville; Milo and George of near Harpers Ferry, and Earl of Woodman, Wis.; three daughters, Mrs. Jesse Wallace and Mrs. Carney Ransdell of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred Snitker of near Waterville; one sister, Clara Sutter of Monona; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother, her husband and two children.
Music at the services was provided by Mrs. George Martin and Mrs. Ben Frese, accompanied by Mrs. Ivon Schultz.
Pallbearers were: John, Herman, Earl, Emmett and Everett Jones, Eldred and Everett Schlitter and Donald Snitker.
