Services for Mrs. Julia Roach, 49, were held from St. Joseph's Catholic church Saturday morning, May 19, at 9:30 o'clock, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. D. A. Gorman officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Mrs. Roach died unexpectedly early Thursday morning at her home in Elkader.
She was a daughter of John and Catherine Quinn, and was born in Cox Creek township on August 14, 1907. On September 01, 1928, she was married to Leo Roach of Highland township. The couple made their home on a farm in Highland township until 1952, when they came to Elkader to make their home.
Mrs. Roach was a member of St. Joseph's church and of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Michael, who is stationed at Edwards Airforce Base, in California. In addition there are six brothers, John Quinn of Peoria, Ill., Kenneth Quinn of Cedar Rapids, George Quinn of Wichita, Kansas, Robert Quinn of Knoxville, Harry Quinn of Edgewood, and Joe Quinn of Menlow Park, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Leo Boland of Elkader, Mrs. T. E. Boland and Mrs. John Meyer, both of Strawberry Point.
In addition to immediate relatives, those from out of town who attended the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Roach, Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Greeley and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shauman, all of St. Paul, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Roach of Savanah, Ill.
