Funeral services were held Monday, May 07, 1956, at 2 o'clock from the St. John Lutheran church at Farmersburg for Mrs. Linda Friedericka (nee Rieckof) Kuhse, with the Rev. R. H. Steege officiating. Burial was in the Farmersburg and Wagner cemetery near Farmersburg.
Mrs. Kuhse was born April 25, 1890, in Read township, Clayton county, Iowa, and died May 04, at Farmersburg, after an illness of two years, due to complications from diabetes.
She received her education in the rural schools of Read township, and on Nov. 11, 1908, was united in marriage to Rudolph Kuhse at Clayton center. They farmed near Postville until 1920, after which they lived on farms near Farmersburg, and the past several years retired in Farmersburg.
Mrs. Kuhse was a member of the St. John Lutheran church of Farmersburg, and the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Eldo (Esther) Schultz, Edgewood; Mrs. Lloyd (Bernice) Amundson, Farmersburg; three sons, Harold, Farmersburg; Harlan, Elkader; and Archie, St. Olaf; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Buchheim, Clayton Center, and Mrs. Hattie Staack, Dubuque. Also eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, who died at birth, one grandchild, Luzette Kuhse, two brothers and five sisters.
