Clayton County Register, 03 May 1956.
Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon, May 03, for E. J. "Bud" Smith, 53, Elkader business man wno died suddenly from a heart attack at his home about 9 o'clock Tuesday morning.
Services will be from the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the East Side cemetery. The Rev. Paul Kitterer, church pastor, will officiate.
Smith was born at Monona on February 05, 1903, a son of Norman and Gertrude Moyer Smith. In ____ he was married to M_______ Lusk of Elkader. The couple had one son, Bradley, who now lives in East Dubuque, Ill.
"Bud" as Smith was generally known, operated a produce house in Elkader for more than a decade. During the past several years he had been employed at the Walke Hardware.
