Funeral services for Henry Carmichael, 83, were held Thursday at the Gill chapel in Strawberry Point with burial in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga. The Rev. Wayne Carlson, Methodist pastor of Strawberry Point conducted the service.
James Henry Carmichael was born in Fayette county Nov. 01, 1872, and for many years lived at Wadena, where he was employed at the Raftis and Alderson stock yards.
He died March 13, at the West Union hospital, after several days illness.
Two sisters, Mrs. Joe Robinson of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Mrs. Nelle Phelps of Strawberry Point survive, also several nieces and nephews.
His parents and one sister, Mrs. Will (Anna) Ewing preceded him in death.
