Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, Feb. 23, for Louis Lemka Sr., 85, retired Cox Creek township farmer who died Monday afternoon in a Prairie du Chien hospital. Lemka had been confined in the hospital for about a month prior to his death. Services will be conducted from the Congregational church in Elkader at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial will be in the East Side cemetery.
Lemka was born February 11, 1871, on a farm in Cox Creek township, where he was to spend his entire life. He was a son of Henry and Anna Pinno Lemka. He was married to Bertha Klink.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Louis Jr., of Elkader, a daughter, Miss Louise Lemka, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Eberhardt of Elkader. There are four grandchildren, Mrs. Martin Schweitert and Kenneth, Sandra and Alyce Lemka.
