Clayton County Register, 26 June 1958.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 23, for Willard Preston, 76, who died Saturday, June 21, at McGregor hospital. Services were conducted at Witt's funeral chapel in Elkader at 2:30 p.m. with burial in the East Side cemetery. The Rev. Paul Kitterer of Peace E. and R. Church officiated.

Mr. Preston was born January 07, 1882, at Ozark, Iowa, in Jackson County. He was the son of Clarence L. and Cena Hill Preston. He spent most of his adult life in the Garber-Elkport area where he operated a saw mill.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ethel M. Quigley and Ruby Preston, both of Lewiston, Mont. Pallbearers were Perry Peterson, Matt Feeney, Realto Meisner and Don Witt.
