Mrs. Elizabeth Katschkowsky, a former resident of Elkader, died at a hospital in Independence, Mo., Dec. 26, 1951, at the age of 95 years, seven months and 18 days.
Funeral services were held in Independence, Mo. and at Witt funeral chapel in Elkader, the latter at 2 o'clock Saturday, Dec. 29, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Pallbearers were Henry Wolf, E. F. Seifert, Arthur Hochhaus, Wm. Katschkowsky and Fred Katschkowsky.
Mrs. Katschkowsky was born May 08, 1856, in Rochester, N.Y. She was married to A. L. Katschkowsky July 15, 1879. The couple settled on a farm near Elkport and later moved to Elkader. Mr. Katschkowsky died in 1917, and Mrs. Katschkowsky moved to Independence, Mo., in 1921.
Seven children were born to the couple, two of whom died in infancy. Her husband and two daughters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, A. A. Katschkowsky and L. H. Katschkowsky, and one daughter, Mrs. A. H. (Freda) Frass, all of Independence, Mo., besides two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Moran of Elkader, and two brothers, Wm. Musfeldt of Elkader and Albert Musfeldt of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, also survive.
