Henry Schutte, 82, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at his home after an extended illness. Services were held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning from the Steger funeral home to St. Mary's Catholic church. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery with the Rev. Gruenwald officiating.

Mr. Schutte was born Jan. 12, 1869, at Guttenberg, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Schutte.

On May 02, 1894, he was married to Marie Clara Meyer at St. Mary's Catholic church in Guttenberg.

Mr. Schutte was employed in the pearl button company for a number of years, later as a shell buyer. For the past 29 years he was the town clerk of this town. Mr. Schutte was a member of the Holy Name society.

Survivors are his wife, two sons and one daughter, Clarence of Perrysburg, Ohio, Harold at home, and Mrs. Anthon (Alma) Willie of Clayton. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Thome of Dubuque, and one brother, Herman of Guttenberg. His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
