GUTTENBERG: Harold Ash died Thursday morning, Dec. 06, at his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o'clock from the Tuecke funeral home. The Rev. E. J. Starr officiated. Mrs. Neil Webster sang two hymns, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. M. Grieves. Burial was made in the city cemetery.
Mr. Ash was born March 01, 1901, at Fayette, the son of Charles and Tacie Shaffer Ash. He was a graduate of the Fayette high school. On May 06, 1922, he was married to Lillian Luther at Elkader. The couple lived in Millville where Mr. Ash managed the creamery for about 25 years. Since then they have resided in Guttenberg where he was employed with Western Buyers.
Mr. Ash was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Order.
Surviving are his wife; one sister, Mrs. (Leah) Herivig of Fayette; three brothers, Vern, of Oelwein; Walter, of West Union, and William, of Fayette. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were Ed Rischell, Byron Minger, A. G. Thompson, Bob Webster, Joe White and Art Graybill.
