Mrs. Ida Dinan died at her home in Elkader, Tuesday, March 31st, from an illness of only four weeks caused from a goitre.
She was born at Mederville, on May 2nd, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meder. She was married to John Dinan, this union was blessed with one son and eight daughters, Rosalya, Genevieve, Dorothy, Cecil, Monica, Meder, Mary, Donno and Bernadine.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughters, Dorothy and Bernadine. The surviving children are: Mary, Donna, Mrs. Floyd Oelke, Roslya, Genevieve and Meder, all of Elkader, Mrs. Karl Fischer of Ames. Three brothers and three sisters also survive her, namely: Charles, Albert and Meder, Mrs. Clara Dittmer, Mrs. M. M. Marshall, Mrs. John Nugent, Merrill, Wis.
Funeral services were held from the St. Joseph's church of which she was a member, on April 2nd, with the Rev. Father J. P. Taken officiating. Interment was made in the St. Joseph's cemetery.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Jos. McTaggart, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Marshall, Waterloo; Mrs. Lena Opperman, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Frank Stalnaker.
