Mrs. Minnie Homewood died at her home here Thursday morning, Sept. 18, from a stroke of apoplexy. Minnie Earle, daughter of Richard and Katherine Earle, was born in Lima, Iowa, June 16, 1866. Her early childhood and womanhood was spent with her parents at that place until her marriage to Henry H. Homewood, Dec. 04, 1889.
After her marriage she and her husband lived on a farm near Fayette. On March 01, 1912, they moved to a farm near Strawberry Point where her husband passed away Sept. 16, 1916.
After the death of her husband she moved to Strawberry Point, which has since been her home.
One son, Claire, preceded her in death in Dec. 1897.
She leaves one son and three daughters, Richard of Strawberry Point; Miss Amy of Minneapolis, Mrs. Katherine Waring of Strawberry Point and Miss Henrietta, at home; five grandchildren, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. T. J. Elwick. Favorite hymns of the deceased were sung by Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Talcott, Miss Marie Jewell and G. J. Gill, with Miss Joyce Preston presiding at the organ. The pallbearers were: R. Moser, C. E. McCarron, M. G. Arnold, R. Osborne, B. W. Talcott and H. Bowman. Interment took place in the family lot at Fayette.
