Elkader Register, Thur., 15 Jan. 1891. Local Scrap Bag column.

Died - On Thursday, January 8th, 1891, occurred the death of Michael Benson, of Highland township, at the advanced age of 78 years. He had been in feeble health for some time, his death being the result of debilities incident to old age. Two sons and two daughters are left to mourn the death of a kind parent. He was buried on Saturday last at the Marion cemetery.
