Death of the Eldest Daughter of Hon. Thomas Updegraff.
McGreqor News:—On Saturday morning, January 20th, the angel of death entered the home of Harry S. Hunting and took from its midst the wife and mother. Alice Kate Hunting, born Updegraff, at McGregor January 2, 1861, daughter of Hon. Thomas Updegraff and Laura A. Upedegraff,{sic} born Platt, died at McGregor in January, 1865. Mrs. Hunting leaves a husband and two children, a daughter and a son, to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. Her home was her treasure. The whole community mourns the loss of one who has grown to womanhood among us, and now has gone to await the coming of her loved ones. The services were held at the the{sic} residence, Rev. Marshall officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
