Mrs. Sigrid Olson was born in Hallingdal, Norway, Dec. 12, 1850, of parents, Rangdi and Embret Mork. The family emigrated to America in 1852 and settled in Rock Prairie, Wis. Two years later they moved to Clayton county to the place we now call the Old Mork place. In 1878 she married Tov. H. Olson. In 1892 they moved to the farm they now live on. She died July 26th having reached the age of 82 years, six months and 14 days. She is survived by her aged husband Tov, her son Ole, five grandchildren and one brother, Knut Mork of Elgin. Four brothers preceded her in death.
She suffered a light stroke Saturday evening but Sunday she listened to the Norwegian sermon over the radio and seemed to get better. Late Sunday night she suffered another stroke and peacefully passed away early Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held at the Marion church Saturday, July 29, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord of St. Olaf officiated.
