Emma Hitchcock was born in Canada, Jan. 1, 1844, and departed this life July 10, 1928, aged 84 years, six months and 10 days. In 1858 she was united in marriage to Rev. Jesse Reynolds, a Civil War veteran. To this union were born three children, two having preceded her in death, and also the father. A few years later she was married to John Humbert of Mount Carrol, Ill. Seven children were born, six having preceded her in death. On March 30, 1884, she was married to O. J. Tinkham of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Tinkham have spent 13 years in Seattle, Wash., returning to this city seven years ago, where she has made her home since. In her early childhood she was baptized in the United Brethern church and later years she united with the Methodist church. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, O. J. Tinkham and son George Humbert of near Volga, one daughter, Mrs. Alvina Elwards, of Mt. Carrol, Ill., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a number of nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev. Robert Davies, her pastor, officiating. Interment was made in Hill Crest cemetery.
