Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 9 Oct. 1913. Littleport column.

Grandma Beatty died at her home, south of town, Friday evening from ailments incident to old age. She had been in poor health for a number of years and her demise was not wholly unlooked for. She was an old settler in this vicinity and enjoyed quite a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Burial was at Union cemetery, south of town, Tuesday.

(Note: WPA records indicate Ann Hill Beatty, 1834 - 3 Oct. 1913, buried in Union Cemetery.)
