Arthur Ferdinand Herman Hoffman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoffman, died at the home of his parents on Thursday morning of brain fever, after an illness of about ten days. He was born on October 23rd, 1902, and died September 7th, 1916, making his short life 13 years, 11 months and 16 days. He was buried on Saturday afternoon from the Lutheran Church to the Lutheran cemetery, Rev. W. Paulsen, his pastor, officiating.
His pall bearers were selected from his playmates. They were: Gottfried Paulsen, Milton Beck, Lawrence Musfeld, Martin Kruse, Leonard Kruse and Wm. Zittergr_en. The choir rendered several nice selections.
The deceased leaves to mourn his loss besides his parents four brothers and two sisters, three brothers having preceded him in death.
Fred Hoffman, wife and family, of Clayton Center; Geo. Hoffman and family, of Guttenberg; August Ho_stmann, Otto Siebert and family and Mrs. H. Scha_fermayer, of Garnavillo, attended the funeral, which was very large. May he rest in peace.
