Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Becker, 65, were held at her home in Littleport, Monday, March 14. The Rev. W. G. Weber of the Immanuel Lutheran church officiated. Burial was in the Union cemetery at Littleport.
Mrs. Becker died at the McGregor hospital, Thursday, March 10, 1949, of a heart disease. She had been in poor health for the past four months and had been at the University hospital in Iowa City before coming to the McGregor hospital.
Ella Mae Hughes was born in Cox Creek township, Clayton county, October 8, 1883, the daughter of Burros and Viola Hughes. She was a graduate of the Littleport school. On October 26, 1904, she was united in marriage to Herman Becker. The couple lived at Ridgeway, Iowa, West Union and Littleport.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1916. Since that time she has made her home in Littleport. She was a member of the Lutheran church there.
She is survived by three children, namely: Don Becker of Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Inez White, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Mrs. Dorothy Kratz, Burlington.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was a son, Howard, and her parents.
Pall bearers were Harold Liddy, Geo. Chettinger, Louis Winch, Kenneth Ruegnitz, Charles Reichart and John Leonard.
