Elkader Register, Fri., 16 Mar. 1883. Elkport Locals column.

Jos. Mott, residing near this place, died very suddenly, on the 12th inst. He had been in town that day, and was apparently as well as usual, but died in his sleigh before reaching home. An examination showed that his death was caused by heart disease. Mr. Mott was about 45 years of age, and highly respected by all who knew him. His funeral occurred on Thursday, and was largely attended.
