The remains of Mr. Caleb Hinkle, an early settler in Clayton county, were brought here Monday evening from Mason City, for internment in the Hamlett cemetery east of Wood, Iowa. the funeral was held Tuesday forenoon, the services being ion charge of Mr. H. Wessel, the Wood quartet furnishing the music for the sad occasion.
The deceased had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Nora Fesenden, where he died on Saturday, March 4th, at the age of 70 years, heart trouble being given as the cause of death.. His daughter, Mrs. Cora Howard, of Nashua, and cousin, Mrs Ellen Hamlett, of Wood, were the only relatives at the funeral. Mr. Hinkles first wife died about twelve years ago at Garber. he leaves to mourn, a wife and three children, Mrs. Nora Fesenden, of Mason City, Mrs. Cora Howard, of Nashua, Iowa and one son John, whose whereabouts are unknown.
