Strawberry Point-- James L. "Gillie" Bennington, 69, of Strawberry Point, died Saturday evening, June 29, 2002, in the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home after a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Volga, by the Rev. Paul Peters. Interment: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Elkader. There will be no visitation at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader, who is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include six sisters, Shirley Biederman and Lucy Steed, both of California, Rita Dillon and DiAnn Peterman, both of Cedar Rapids, Patty Shea of Volga and Catherine McTaggart of Boone; and a brother, John of Marion.
