Felix Charles Moritz was born June 13, 1916 in rural Monona, IA to parents Herman and Amelia Lange Moritz. He was baptized May 20, 1926 and confirmed Feb. 4, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He received his education in Walnut Grove Country School.

On June 14, 1939 Felix was married to Velma Evans in Waukon (IA). The couple farmed east of Monona for 28 years. Felix worked for Peglow Motor Co. for 11 years. In 1980 the couple moved to Monona.

Felix died Saturday, June 27, 1992 at Veteran's memorial Hospital in Waukon. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a member of the Monona Fire Department.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Edna and Amy and brother Ervin.

Surviving is his wife, Velma; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Jean Ann) Berger of Waukon; one son Gary of Monona; seven grandchildren, Randy, Rusty, Linda, Ricky and Lisa Berger; James and Kristie Moritz; six great grandchildren, Eddie, Fala, Felix, Devin, Candance, Carissa Berger; and three brothers, William of Cedar Rapids and Harold and Milo, both of West Union.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 29 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona. Pastor Terry Hudson officiated and Mrs. Florence Evans was the organist. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Rodney Pritchard, Harvey Montour, Tom Grady, Harold Vorwald, Roy Ulish, Ray Mielke, Frank Hager, Henry Hemesath, Ken Huber, Duane Schsffert, Curt Kruger, Scotty Henderson, Bud Campbell, Ray Sweeney. Active pallbearers were Roger Drahn, Robert Smith, David Smith, Marvin Mohs, Jason Feruson, Kenneth Radloff, Jim Schelhorn and John Kerndt. Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of arrangements.
