Chappell - Eggers marriage - 1957

St. John's Lutheran church, Farmersburg, was the scene, Saturday, for the marriage of Marlene M. Eggers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eggers of Farmersburg, and Donald L. Chappell, son of the George Chappells of Volga City. The Rev. R. H. Steege officiated. Miss Madonna Eggers, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mary Jane Dinan was bridesmaid. Kenneth Chappell, brother of the groom, served as best man.

A reception for 200 guests was held at the Amvets club at National, at which Mrs. Ada Kiple, aunt of the bride, cut the cake.

The bride is a graduate of the Monona-Farmersburg Community high school and is employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. The groom is a graduate of the Volga City high school and is employed in Cedar Rapids, where the new couple will make their home.
