my G/father-Mathew Otis Borders was born in Iowa 1867/68. My father passed down many stories about my great/g/father Christopher Borders was prob born Mi terr 1831 & moved to Iowa between 1831 & 1867,then to Mo...he married Amanda ??? ( OF RECORD),BUT,he was born of a Blackfoot Indian woman.I know Iowa may not be a native area for Blackfoot tribe w/ what we believe currently,But his father-Christopher Borders-b.1798-( probably Amish from ???)& married Amanda in Virginia circa 1820+-5 yrs,then apparently lived in Mi terr. @ extreme s/w corner,where 2nd Christopher was born.One of these Chrises owned a trading post in Mi.Terr.??or Iowa,where Indians came to trade furs for whiskey Christopher had them put their knives in a tub before they drank...I can't seem to connect 1st Chris w/Blackfoot woman & mother of 2nd Christopher I'd be much obliged for any help...
