Funeral sevices for Donald Marvin Amick, 64, of Everly, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Hope Lutheran Church, Everly. The Rev. G. Duane Baun will officiate. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly. There will be military services by the Everett Boyles Post 414 of the American Legion.

Casket Bearers will be Roger Ginger, Gary Scharnberg, Dick Thiessen, Clair Moding, Chuck Pemble and George Thiessen. All the men ar members of the Everett Boyles Post 414

Mr Amick died Wednesday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Mr. Amick, son of Russell and Lila (England) Amick, was born April 21, 1927, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in the communities of Arnold Park and Spencer, and it was in the Spencer schools that he received his early education.

He entered the military in 1943, and served as a machine gunner in the Marines. He was wounded in action in 1944, and following many months in hospitals, was discharged in 1946.

On September 13, 1953, he married Judith Rae Petersen in Jackson, Minnesota. They began their married life in Spirit Lake, later moving to Everly, where they operated the J&D Cafe in Everly and for many years he was self-employed as a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter; and one granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons; Greg Clay Amick of Great Bend, Kansas and Bradley Amick of Everly; one son by a previous marriage, Marvin Amick of Spencer; four grandchildren; and two sisters; Norma Jean Kennedy and Virginia Escovedo, both of Alvin, Texas

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
