MAHLON HARRIMAN

Mahlon Harriman of Burr Oak Grove, five miles southeast of Cornell, Iowa, died Sunday morning, July 26, 1931, at his home after an illness of many years. He was 59 years, 11 months, and 4 days of age.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home at 1:45 o'clock and at two o'clock at the Burr Oak schoolhouse. Rev. W.F. Hurst of Spencer, pastor of the Church of Christ, had charge of the services. Burial was made in the Burr Oak cemetery.

Mahlon Harriman, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Harriman, was born August 22, 1871, at Zumbrota, Minnesota. When he was three weeks of age, his parents moved to Burr Oak Grove, near Cornell, where he resided until his death. At the age of ten years, he was seriously ill with spinal meningitis, which left him an invalid until his death. Through the many years of illness he was a patient sufferer.

He is survived by his father, C.A. Harriman and a sister, Nettie Galbraith, both of Spencer, two brothers, Marshal Harriman of Dickens and Perry C. Harriman of Everson, and four other sisters, Lucille Huntley of Bellingham, Washington, Lily Moir of LeMars, Louisa J. Huntley of Sioux Rapids, and Nellie Gallimore of Pierre, South Dakota. One brother died in infancy.
