A funeral service for Royal Fredrick Guerttman, 77 of Spencer will be held today, January 30, 2001, 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer witht the Rev. Gary Nims officiating

Mr. Guerttman died at his home in Spencer on Friday, January 26, 2001

Casket bearers will be Darrell Goff, Jim Kappeler, Robert Goff, Gary Gaston, Elson Goff,John Juza, Dan Guerttman and Roland Thomas

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements

Royal Fredrick Guerttman, the son of William and Luella (Case) Guerttman, was born June 16, 1923 in Humboldt. His childhood years were spent in Humboldt, where he received his early education. His family later moved to Spencer, where he graduated from Spencer High School.

He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1943 until his discharge on March 12, 1946

He married Arlene Goff on June 6, 1948 in Ruthven. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer. He worked at Asher Motor Company for 49 years as a parts manager. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the American Legion in Spencer

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister

Survivors include his wife, Arlene; two sons and their wives; Randy and Gloria Guerttman of Spencer and Terry and Patricia Guerttman of Rapid City, South Dakota; one daugher, Sandra Quist of Marion; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers; Robert Guerttman and his wife, Marge of Spencer and Ronald Guerttman of Weslaco, Texas; other relatives and friends
