Charles (Chuck) Fisher, 44, Spencer, died Thursday, September 17, 1998 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City

Funeral services wil be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 21 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Spencer, witht the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating

Casket bearers will be Dean Peterson, Jim Virelli, Bernie Keninger, Denny Slaymaker, Dave Nelson and Cleber Meyer

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangements

Memorials may be designated to (Tools) at Spencer Community Theatre

Charles Leo Fisher, the son of Marlo and Mary (Walsh) Fisher, was born July 17, 1954, in Jackson, Minnesota. He later moved to Spencer where he graduated from Spencer High School. He attended the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls

On May 18, 1975, Chuck married Brenda Lynn Anderson in Spencer. Following their marriage, he taught industrial arts and drivers education in Terril for one years and Spencer for two years. He started work for the City of Spencer in 1978 as Assistant Director of Public Works and was later appointed Director of Public Works

Chuck was a community minded person who enjoyed working with the people of Spencer in many ways. He was member of the Bethany Lutheran Church where he helped with the Building and Property Committee and used his craftsmanship for the church, the YMCA and Spencer Community Theatre. He was a member of the American Public Works Association where he was a past president. He also was active in the Main Street Program and had been instrumental in the transformation of the new city hall as well as the South Grand Project

He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather and a nephew

Chuck is survived by his wife; two daughters, Tiffany at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado and Suzanne of the home; his mother, Mary Fisher of Spencer; two brothers, Tom of Iowa City and Terry of Sioux City and a sister, Cherly Hanson of Honey Creek
