Floyd Bolyard, 72, Spencer died Thursday, September 3, 1998 at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at United Pentecoastal Church, Spencer, witht the Rev. Dale Hughes officiating

Military services will be conducted by Glen Pederson Post 1 of Spencer and the VFW Post of Sioux Rapids

Casket bearers will be Dave Meyer, Richard Rentach, Jim Caskey, Ralph Kabrick, Eldon Fagen and Bob Seaman

Honorary casket bearers will be Omer Bredvick, Hubert Jones, Dale and Vi Roberts, A.J. (Bud) Fleck, Dean Seibel,m Eldon Larsen, Gerald Geisinger, Tom Gard, Don Wilson and Jim Meyer

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangements

Floyd Allen Bolyard, the son of Gabe and Bessie (Fallon) Bolyard, was born October 3, 1925 in Greenville and it was in Gillett Grove and Cornell that he received his education

Floyd entered the military and served with the United States Navy from October 30, 1945 to the time of his honorable discharge on April 1, 1946. While in the Navy, he served in the Asiatic Pacific Area and was awarded the Victory Medal of World War II

On April 27, 1951, he married Mary Kabrick in Spencer and following their marriage, they lived in Spencer. While living in Spencer, he was a member of the American Legion Glen Pederson Post #1, where he had been post commader; a life time member of the VFW Post of Sioux Rapids; a past governor and member of the Moose Lodge and a past member of the Eagles. Floyd had worked a the Broadbent Distribution of Des Moines and B&M Distribution of Spencer

Mr. Bolyard was preceded in death by hi sprents; one brother, Glenn; and a granddaughter in infancy.

He is survived by his daughter, Sue of Spencer; one son, Brad of Spencer; one grandaughter, Amy; and two sisters; Lucile Beck and Ruth Batschelet both of Spencer
