Lora (Cozad) Coder 1880-1948

Mrs. Willet W. Coder (nee Lora Cozad) the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Cozad was born November 8, 1880 at Newhall, Iowa and passed away September 27, 1948 at the Spirit Lake hospital at
the age of 67 years, 1 month and 13 days.
She was united in marriage to Willet W. Coder of Newhall, Iowa on December 11, 1902 and to this union was born one daughter, Adean. The family resided at Newhall until the year 1905, when they moved to the vicinity of Paullina. From that time on they made their residence in the Paullina, Sutherland and Primghar vicinity until 1936, when Mr. and Mrs. Coder moved to Moneta.
Mrs. Coder was active in church work until failing health made it Impossible for her to participate.
She was a member of the Wealthy Circle of the Moneta Methodist church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Miller of Torrance, Calif.; three grandsons, Dean, Garry and Gale, nieces and nephews and other relatives, and many friends who regret her departure. Her passing came after several years of failing health. She was respected by all who knew her and will be remembered as a good neighbor and loyal friend as well as, a devoted mother and wife.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, September 30, 1948 at 2 o'clock at the Cobb Warner Chapel in Spencer with Rev. Leonard Rowse, pastor of the Moneta church officiating.
Burial was In Lone Tree cemetery at Everly.
Casket bearers were: Clarence Smith and Orlo H. Smith of Paullina, Dewey Smidt of Primghar, John Smidt of Gaza, Byron Aidrich and Roy Birdsall of Moneta.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Gale Birdsall and Mrs. Ray Ihrig who sang "In the Garden" and "God will Take Care of You." accompanied by Lucille Popp on the piano.
The flowers were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Hennings, Mrs. Adelbert Dougal and Mrs. Frank Ranning.
Relatives attending from a distance were the daughter and grandson, Mrs. Win. Miller and Gary, Torrance, Calif., a niece, Mrs. Wm. Harris and husband and two sons, Homer and William of Paullina; a niece, Mrs. Henry Roble, Claska, Minn.; sister-in-law Mrs. Rose Cozad, Claremont, Minn.; and a brother-in-law, Harvey Troutman of Paullina.
