Mary Christina Jans, 95, Spencer, died October 6, 1995, at Longhouse Nursing Home, Spencer
Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Warner Chapel, Spencer, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating
Casket bearers will be Terry DeWall, Denny Winterboer, Jeff Jans, Shane Booth, Howard VanDaalen and John Erdman
Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangement
Mary Christina Jans was born November 17, 1899 in Clay County to Johannes and Ursula Jessen. She received her early education in Everly
On December 5, 1915, she married Grover Roberts. After his death she married Harry Jans
She entered Northshire Residence in 1991 and then transferred to Longhouse Nursing Home in 1993
She was a member of the fostoria United Methodist Church
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, her second husband, one son, Howard Roberts; one daughter, Betty Amerien and one brother
She is survived by seven daughter, Maurine DeWall of Kingsley; Maxine Thompson of Spencer; Evelyn Winterboer of Everly; Belva Jungers of Milford; Joyce Doll of Clearwater, Florida and Elaine Buckwalter of Laurens; 23 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren
