Clara Emma Wieben, the daughter of Thomas and Maude Caskey Pettit was born August 5, 1917 in Everly, IA. Her childhood years were spent on the farm, before moving to town. Clara married Leonard LeClair on October 19, 1935. They later divorced. She later married Albert Wieben on August 5, 1952.
Clara enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. She also liked bird watching, sewing, craftwork, being active in the church and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Go Getter Club, Farm Bureau Women, and the United Methodist Church in Everly, IA.
Clara passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home in Spencer, IA at the age of 96.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one son, Larry LeClair; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth LeClair and Allen Johnson; one great-grandson, Donnie Newton Jr.; 5 brothers, Harry, Clifford, Kenneth, Frank, and Elmer Pettit; 3 sisters, Ruth Taylor, Violet Penny, and Kathryn Nielsen; one daughter-in-law Colleen LeClair.
Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children, Jacquelyn Peterson of Spencer, IA and Thomas LeClair of Everly, IA; Many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Pettit of Sebring, FL; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Pettit of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
