Funeral services for R. J. Schoelerman, 84, of Everly was held Monday morning from Hope Lutheran Church of Everly. Pastor Roger Hanson officiated. Burial was at Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly. Bearers were Stan Schoelerman, Jack Schoelerman, Don Schoelerman, Bob Schoelerman, Robert Stueben and Ronald Stueben.
Mr. Schoelerman died Friday, November 4 at Hartley hospital.
He was born January 19, 1893, to Peter F. and Celia (Soehren) Schoelerman in rural Everly. On October 7, 1958, he was married to Edith Ward Loder at Everly.
His first marriage was to Alma Peters who died in November 21, 1957.
Mr. Schoelerman received his education in rural Everly schools then farmed for several years before entering the service in World War I. After the service, he started an implement business along with plumbing and running the Corn Theatre in Everly. He retired in 1943.
Mr. Schoelerman was a member of Hope Lutheran church of Everly, the Masonic Lodge of Everly and the American Legion of Hartley.
Surviving are his widow, Edith; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Thais) Patten of New Ulm, Minnesota, and Mrs. James (Jean) Mills of Everly and step-children Mrs. Gerald (Mildred) Nelson of Spencer; Vernon Loder of Hartford; June Lubensky of Northridge, California, and William Loder of Hartley; 4 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother Arthur and a sister, Mrs. Peter (Elfie) Steuben, both of Everly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, four brothers and a sister.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
