Services for Ralph Reinhart Henkel, 78 of Spencer will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Warner Chapel. Rev. Wyne Peterson will conduct the service
Pallbearers will be Gregory Hurt, Michael Harleman, Donald Harleman, Richard Frerichs, Timothey Frerichs and Terry Frerichs
Interment will at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
Mr. Henkel, the son of Rolf and Tina (Saathoof) Henkel, was born March 15, 1901 in Plaggenberg, Germany. HIs early years were spent in Germany and he received a portion of his education there. He moved to America in 1923, settling in Havelock, Nebraska, where he made his home with an aunt and uncle. While there he worked for the Burlington Railroad for a short time
Mr. Henkel married Margarethe Peters on November 28, 1925 in Lincoln, Nebraska. While in Lincoln, Mr. Henkel attended barber college. Following his graduation, they moved to Everly and subsequently to Spencer in 1928, where they have made their home since. He barbered for many years in his own shop, in addition to barbering at nursing homes and hospitals, He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
Mr. Henkel died Saturday at his home Saturday, August 4
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Anna Marie; three brothers and three sisters
Mr. Henkel is survived by his wife, Margarethe of Spencer; three daughters, Mrs. Regina Harleman of Spencer, Mrs. Violet Hurt of Escondido, California and Mrs. Opel Frerichs of Spencer; 10 grandchildren three great grandchildren; a brother, Fokke Henkel of Aurich, Germany; and four sisters, Mrs. Antje Ostreich of Duisburg, Germany; Mrs. Hanne Denekas of Schirum, Germany; Mrs. Lini Erduweins and Mrs. Sini Kahlert, both of Wilhelmshaven, Germany
Warner Funeral Home is handling the service arrangements
