Funeral services for George Alfred Mayou, 82, who died June 28,1977 at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Spirit Lake, were Friday morning, July 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Spirit Lake, with burial at Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, la.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia of Montgomery, la., three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Jean) Osgood of Antioch, Calif., Mrs. Dale (Lola) Long of Spencer, and Mrs. Leon (Delores) Clark of Jeffers, Minn.; one sister: Mrs. Louis (Viola) Dehrkoop; one brother: Elmer; daughter-in-law: Lorene Mayou of Lake Park; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald; his parents; one brother; two sisters, and two grandsons.
Officiating at the service was Fr. N.J. Becker.
Pallbearers were Mike Mayou, Gayle Clark, Bob Clark, James Kuiper, Von Kilts, Clifford Dehrkoop.
Born Oct. 18, 1894 at Everly, la., to Philip and Victoria LeClair Mayou, he married Amelia Zaiser at LeMars on Dec. 31,1921. He spent most of his life as a farmer and carpenter in the Lake Park area.
He was a Navy veteran of WWI.
