Justin Ray Miller, the son of Larry and Pamela (Johnson) Miller, was born on October 27, 1975 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Everly, IA, where he received his education, graduating from Clay Central-Everly High School in 1994. Justin started telemarketing at Evertek when he turned 16, as an after school job. Then, after graduation, Justin worked at Apak in Spencer. He later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and worked at Citibank. When Jessica decided to move to Huxley, IA to get her Master's Degree at Iowa State University in 2002, Justin moved with her and was successful in transferring to Citibank in Des Moines, IA. In 2006, Justin made a career change and started work at Nationwide in Des Moines. He was very passionate about his job and work family at Nationwide. Justin's greatest joy in life was spending time with family. He enjoyed his oldest nephew, Liam, coming to his house and playing Mario Cart 7 and Lego City on the Wii U. He also liked to spend time at Jessica's house with Jessica and Nick and their children, Liam, Isabelle, Annabelle, Micah, and Quinn. During football season, Justin would watch the Dallas Cowboys play with Jessica and her family. Justin always made sure to spend quality time with Pam and Grandma Lois Johnson whenever he came back to Everly. Justin was notorious for promoting some type of get together with his cousins while in the area. He enjoyed playing games, particularly Jenga, spoons, and cards. He also looked forward to the annual poker tournament with his cousins and friends. Justin Miller was loved by all of his family and friends. He was a wonderful friend who would not sugar coat anything. People never doubted where they stood with Justin. Justin was such a joy and light in people's lives. Many memories include his keen ability to make people smile by his one-liners, which often included colorful language.
Justin passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home in Ankeny, IA. Justin is preceded in death by his father Larry Miller, Grandfather Jack Johnson, Grandparents Leland and Gwen Miller, Uncle Denny Miller, Aunt Diane (Johnson) Heller, and Aunt Shirley (Miller) Caviness.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Pam Miller of Everly; sister Jessica (Miller) and husband Nicholas Hurst and their five children Liam, Isabelle, Annabelle, Micah, and Quinn of Huxley; Grandmother Lois Johnson of Everly; best friends Danielle (Johnson) Kepford of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Travis Johnson of Spencer, Renee (Johnson) Bendlin of Royal; Matthew (Matty) Johnson of Everly; Marwan Sheikhaldeen of Ames, IA; many family and friends.
