SERVICES HELD FOR ANNA SEARS
Funeral services were conducted at the Warner Chapel in Spencer Thursday, September 27 for Anna Sears. The clergyman was Pastor Keith Kohlmeier. Interment was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley. Casket bearers were Harold Roskens, Dale Killmer, Oliver Offutt, C. J. Barwick, Dwight Abel and John Clarke.
Anna Oestenstad Sears, the daughter of Reidar and Clara Svensen Oestenstad, Sr. was born March 1, 1920 in Asker, Norway. She received her early education in Fostoria and later graduated from Spencer High School in 1938. Anna married Walter M. Sears on January 23, 1943 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Following their marriage, they made their home in Hartley, where they lived until moving back to Spencer in 1965.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Spencer and had lived at Longhouse since 1974.
On September 25, 1984 Mrs. Sears passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer at the age of 64 years, six months and 24 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter.
Mrs. Sears is survived by two sons and their wives: Jerry and Sharon Sears of Sheldon and Rony and Sue Sears of Spencer; four grandchildren; one brother, Reidar Oestenstad, Jr. of Spencer; one sister, Helen (Mrs. Carroll "Stub" (Veitch) of Spencer; as well as other relatives and many friends.
