Jerry Golden dies unexpectedly at 46; funeral at Spencer
Jerry Golden, 46, former LeMars resident, died unexpectedly Thursday (May 17, 1973) at his home in Spencer.
His mother, Mrs. Ray Golden, LeMars, reported Jerry and his wife Margy had attended graduation exercises Wednesday evening at Cherokee for a relative. His wife found him dead in bed this morning.
Mrs. Golden said her son had been under the care of a physician for a heart condition.
He had been employed the last several years as a sales representative for Sportsmans out of Spencer. Jerry had played drums with the Jim Cook combo out of Remsen.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Spencer. Burial will be at Spencer under the direction of the Lightle-Hays funeral home. Burial at Riverside Cemetery
Jerry was born in LeMars and would have been 47 years old Sunday, May 20. He was a graduate of LeMars high school and Westmar college.
Surviving in addition to his mother in LeMars are his wife, the former Margy Wilberding of Remsen; four children, Tom, Jeriann, Lisa and Lori, all of Spencer; a 8-month-old granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Bohike of Dayton, Iowa, and a brother Jim of Fullerton, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father Ray Golden of LeMars, former highway commission foreman here.
