James Franklin Lorenzen, the son of Frank and Clara Radgey Lorenzen was born February 10, 1953 in Spencer, Iowa.  He received his education from Spencer High School.  Following his schooling, Jim worked for the Railroad for 6 years and then for Don O’Hara for two years along with doing custodial work on his own.  He then worked at Woodall Sheep Farm.  For the past 25 years, Jim worked as a bartender at Cindy’s and for the past 6 months he also worked at Hartley Nursing Home.

On October 11, 1991, Jim married Shelly Miller at the Ninth Street Baptist Church in Spencer.  In his spare time, Jim enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Miami Dolphins play and he also enjoyed watching westerns.  Jim was a member of the Ninth Street Baptist Church and loved attending Sunday services.

Jim passed away on October 28, 2017 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 64.  He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Linda and brother, Larry.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly of Spencer; one brother and his wife, David and Jackie Lorenzen of Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
