DEATH CALLS THREE MORE

Mrs. W.W. DeWitt, Sarah Patterson, and Allan Lemaster Called Within the Past Week

Sarah Elizabeth Patterson died at her home on Tuesday morning of heart failure after a few days of serious illness at the advanced age of 76 years.

She was born in Illinois, April 7, 1834 and when ten years old moved with her parents to Plattville, Wisconsin. She graduated from the academy there and then taught for fifteen years. In 1873 she came to Iowa, living at Ames most of the time until 1890 when she moved to Peterson where she has continued to reside until death. She joined the Congregational church at Plattville, Wisconsin in early life, and transferred her membership to Ames and then to Peterson. She was always a devoted christian woman and died with a truth faith. She was ready to go. She leaves two sisters, one in Los Angeles, California and on in Hanover, Germany and two nieces, Mrs. Jay Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. E.M. Ellis, of Los Angeles, California. A message was sent to Mrs. Smith on Monday of the approaching end, but death came before she could get here Tuesday. She and her husband and little girl came. The funeral was held at the Congregational Church at 10 o'clock Wednesday conducted by Rev. Bush. The body was shipped to Ames for interment.
