January 20, 2002A funeral service for Carrol Finnestad, 69, of Spencer will be held today, January 25, 2002 at Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Craig Finnestad will lead the 1:30 P.M. Service
Casket Bearers; Gary Craig, Ron and Scott Finnestad and Bob Dallenbach
Interment will be at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements
Carrol Ivan Finnestad, the son of Chris and Ida Birke Finnestad, was born February 28, 1932 in Laurens. He received his education in Laurens, graduating in 1949. Following high school, he entered the U.S.Army where he served during the Korean War for two years
After his honorable discharge, he attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, where he graduated in 1960 with a bachelor of arts degree in business education. He became a business teacher at Audubon High School for 16 years and while teaching there, attended Drake University earning his masters degree in education in 1970. He then worked at the Ar-We-Va High School as a school counselor. Mr. Finnestad moved to Spencer in 1980
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother
Survivors include one brother and his wife, Richard and Carolyn Finnestad of Boone; one sister and her husband, Mary Ann And Don Carlson Of Alexandria, Minnesota; other relatives and friends
