Elser, the son of Martin and Maria Link Elser, was born December 27, 1889 in Schlossau, Germany. He received his degree in agriculture in Hochburg, Germany and came to the United States in 1923
He married Wally Sippl on September 23, 1929 in Royal and they farmed in Clay County many years. Elser was one of the first farmers to raise soybeans in this area and was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal
Elser died Tuesday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, William; three brothers and four sisters
Survivors include two sons, Donald of Moneta and Martin of Long Beach, California; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Fennessey of Long Beach, California; and fourteen grandchildren
The Baumgarten Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of the service arrangements
