A funeral service for Steve Eickhoff, 57 of Spencer is scheduled for January 3, 2002 at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. The Revs. Craig Finnestad, Lanny Carlson and Kathy Spracklin will lead the 10:30 a.m. service.

Mr. Eickhoff died at the Spencer Hospital on Tuesday, December 31, 2002

Casket Bearers; Delbert Dodge, Ken Lawrence, Doug Rutter, Dan Merten, Nyle Dotson, John Weiskircher.

Honorary Bearers; Raymond Ball, Alan Banks, Bob Fitzloff, Gary Hamer, Kenny Hansen, Tom Lorenz, Joe Thompson.

Interment will be at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer.

Steve Lynn Eickhoff the son of Edgar William and Betty Hansen Eickhoff was born October 28, 1945 in Storm Lake. His childhood years were spent in Newell, where he received his education, graduating from Newell High School

He married Karen Miller on December 28, 1963 in Storm Lake. He worked at Fareway in Webster City and in 1964 they moved to Storm Lake, where they operated a small grocery store. He later worked at HyGrade, which is now IBP.

Mr. Eickhoff farmed with his father in law until moving to the Spencer area in March of 1972, where he farmed and sold Pioneer Seed Corn. He received his CCA Certificiate in Agronomy and was a member of the Farmer's Coop Elevator Board.

He was preceded in death by one son

Survivors include his wife; one daughter and her husband, Annette Marie and Steve Spears of Spencer; one son and his wife, Douglas William and Deon of rural Spencer; three grandchildren; his parents; two brothers and their wives; Bill and Karen Eickhoff of Orange City and Tom and LaDonna Eikhoff of Boone; one sister, Becky and her husband, Loren Zoet of Adel; his father and mother in law, Kenneth and Maxine Miller of Storm Lake; other relatives and friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
