Rick Duane Anderson, the son of Duane and Phyllis Struve Anderson, was born April 27, 1954 in Cherokee, Iowa. He received his early education and graduated from the Sioux Valley High School in 1973.

On July 31, 1976, Rick married Debra Schultz at the Congregational Church in Peterson. Following their marriage, Rick farmed in the Peterson area and also operated Custom Farming.

Rick was a member of the Congregational Church where he was currently serving as Moderator and Trustee and also had been a youth leader.

He also was a member of Pork Producers, Lions Club, Peterson Coop Elevator board member and served as a 4-H Leader.

In his spare time, Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Rick enjoyed spending time with his friends but most of all he loved being with his family.

Rick passed away on May 24, 2010 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 56.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Leo and Lena Struve and Olin and Josie Anderson; his father-in-law, Alfred Schultz.

He is survived by his wife, Deb of Peterson; children: Tait Anderson and his fiance, Emily Paul of Pierre, SD, Gage & Kellie Anderson and their son, Reid of Peterson, IA, Bryn Anderson of Marshalltown, IA and Bree Anderson of Peterson, IA; his parents, Duane and Phyllis Anderson of Peterson, IA; brother, Jon & Janet Anderson of Peterson, IA; sister Cheri & Greg Brown of Peterson, IA; mother-in-law, Doris Schultz of Lone Rock, IA; brothers-in-law, Gary & Sherry Schultz of Ankeny, IA, Tim & Kathy Schultz of Rice Lake, WI and Todd & Deb Schultz of Black Hawk, SD; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
