A prayer service for Dorothy Clapp, 90, of Spencer, will be held today, September 4, 2002 at the Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer with the Rev. Paul Hansen officiating.

Mrs. Clapp died at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, August 31.

Burial will be in North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer.

Dorothy Mae Clapp, the daughter of John and Lulu Folts Voss was born October 23, 1911, in Emmet, Colorado. Her childhood years were spent in Gruver, where she received her education, graduating from Gruver High School. She continued her education, attending and graduating from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She moved to Spencer in 1937 and worked as a registered nurse at the Spencer Hospital from 1937 until her retirement in 1976.

On November 2, 1955, she married Arthur Clapp in Storm Lake. They made their home in Spencer.

She was member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer.

Mrs. Clapp was precede in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.

Survivors include one step daughter and her husband, Dorothy and Lawrence Rusk of Linn Grove; one step son and his wife, Troy and Betty Clapp of Linn Grove; one step daughter in law, Mary Clapp of Mountain Home, Colorado; other relatives and friends.
